Aunt Deanie's chocolate cake is rich, dark and fabulous! Super easy, you can serve this plain, with a little powdered sugar or try chocolate butter cream. Top with cream cheese frosting for a crowd-pleasing dessert!
Ingredients
1 c. sugar
4 heaping Tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. cold water
2 c. flour
1 c. mayonnaise
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions
Blend sugar with cocoa in large mixing bowl or stand mixer. Add mayo & vanilla and mix. Combine flour and baking soda in separate bowl. Add dry ingredients along with water, alternating between additions. End with flour.
Bake at 350° for 40-50 minutes. When done, toothpick inserted in center will be clean. Makes 2 - 8" rounds or 9x13*.

*If baking 9 x 13 glass pan, cook about 30 minutes.
