Easy Hard Boiled Eggs

egg-25369_1280I’ve had a few different “recipes” over the years for hard boiled (or hard cooked if you prefer) eggs. I still like mine…see below… but I stumbled upon this today and I thought it was worth sharing.

I can’t imagine letting the eggs “cook” for 14+ minutes…mine are always perfect at ten. But give it a looksy.  I like John’s videos.

Here’s my take:

Place eggs in roomy pan…week old eggs best, Mom said.

Add water to cover eggs by 1 inch.

Add 1 tsp. salt (Mom told me this will seal cracks.)

Bring to a boil over medium high heat; let simmer for 30 seconds.

Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 10 minutes.

Transfer eggs to ice water bath until cool.

Store in fridge (write HB on carton with Sharpie or with pencil on egg so you know!) until ready to dye or eat!
